Bio

My work has been published in everything from a local daily paper in the Texas Hill Country to

NPR.

I won an award for travel writing, which is called the Lowell Thomas Award for a story you can find here. I've also won an award for humor writing, and several novel competitions for early drafts of my first novel, Matchbook.

I write novels under Desireé Prosapio, Creative Non Fiction under Winter D. Prosapio. I'm also part of the founding duo of WordRiver Press, an indie e-press dedicated to the craft of writing, publishing, and story.

Outside of writing, I am the mother to two of the most amazing young women on the planet, married to a big tough guy, and attempt to lord over three dogs, a cat, a rabbit, and a quarter horse.

I teach workshops on essay writing because I believe a story untold is a story lost. And we should not lose stories.

You can find me on twitter @desireeprosapio or on facebook.
